HUGUES DE PAYENS CRUSADER SWORD- SILVER
Hugues de Payens (c.1070-1136) was French Knight the Champagne region and was co-founder and first Grand Master of the Knights Templar. At the request of Pope Urban II, he organized the original nine monk-knights to defend pilgrims traveling to the Holy Land.
